Abandoned

She sat alone. A cold breeze whipped through the forest. She sat softly on the ground shielded by the tall pines surrounding. The gusts of wind blew her hair gently around her face. She ran her hands up her arms covered in small bumps raised by the chill in the air. She fingered the hem of her tattered skirt. The constant thoughts echoed through her head. Alone, abandoned, afraid. She breathed taking in raspy breath. Her eyes were glassy and cheeks were damp by the gentle orbs which ran down her face. She pushed her long windblown tresses out of her bleary eyes. The darkness seemingly encased her as she sat in the shadows of the pines. She pulled her knees up to her chest and rocked back and forth on her heels. She wanted to cry out, but she could only whisper, she wanted to scream, but the only thing which came forth was the gravely call of desperation. Then from the darkness came a light, from the pain came love. From the screams came a call, and from the desperation came an answer. “You are never alone, no matter how hard it gets I am by your side, you will never have more then you can handle, even in the seemingly darkest places you are never abandoned.”
